    Process Operator

    Hera Mine are currently seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Process Operator to join the team.

    In this position you will ensure all aspects of the operations activities are carried out safely and efficiently. You will operate with a sense of urgency to achieve target outcomes and KPI's.

     

    Key responsibilities for this position (include but are not limited to the following):

    • Ensure safe and effective operation of the processing plant which includes crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening and filtration circuits.
    • Carryout circuit prestart checks as required
    • Carryout day to day activities assigned by the Mill Supervisor
    • Maintain plant housekeeping standards
    • Perform minor maintenance tasks and report maintenance requirements for mobile and fixed plant equipment
    • Proactively use the companies risk management systems including Take 5s and JSA's
    • Assist with tails dam operation and maintenance
    • Maintain ROM pad, ore stockpiles
    • Assist with concentrate handling operation
    • Maintain and update log sheet records and other reporting requirements

     

    It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

    • Previous experience in process plant operations which have included crushing, grinding and flotation as a minimum. Ability to maintain high housekeeping standards
    • Exposure to gravity recovery and dewatering operations is considered advantageous.
    • Work autonomously with a high level of attention to detail and diligence.
    • Strong focus on safety, team work, and problem solving skills, mechanical aptitude and strong work ethic will ensure your success in the role.
    • Forklift Ticket (Desirable but not essential)

    Senior Mining Engineer

    Peak Gold Mines are currently looking for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join the team.

    The key objective of this position is to optimise extraction of Peak ore reserves through efficient, safe, and cost-effective mining operations. Supporting objectives are to contribute to the future profitability of Peak Gold Mines in strategy, planning and design of underground and surface mining and to provide and support leadership in the mining and technical services team and the Peak site.

    This position will suit a motivated, self-starter who is constantly seeking excellence within their sphere of influence.

     

    Key responsibilities of the position include:

    • Leadership of engineers in carrying out mining engineering functions that support the operations team.
    • Oversight of team members carrying out planning activities including
      • Mine area planning, panel level and stope planning, and mine development
      • Services infrastructure, including vent, pumping, services reticulation
      • This oversight will include, at times, being hands-on, where required, so as to provide leadership and support to team members and the Department.
    • Be accountable for the development of medium term plans (e.g. rolling 3-month plans or 12 weekly rolling plan) and ensuring medium term plans link to annual and life of mine plans and short term plans (1—4-week plans). Tracking against plan and monitoring of short, medium and long term plan links and feed-back loops and taking action to rectify variations and proposing plans to catch-up.
    • Overview production activity and outcomes as part of ensuring planning is effective in setting up operations for success and monitoring production for variations to plan so as to continuously improve planning and execution.
    • Be part of establishing a proactive, productive, professional and can-do culture, and work collaboratively with team members, and the mining contractor to make Peak successful in the long-term.
    • Participate in creating the budget and life of mine schedule including reserves.
    • Project work and evaluation at the direction of the Mining Manager or Technical Services Superintendent. Development of new projects consistent with department and site objectives is encouraged provided they add value and do not detract from team goals.
    • Mentor and develop technical services team members.
    • Working closely with the mine operations, geology, geotechnical and survey teams to ensure, productive and profitable, productive and safe mine.
    • Support the Mining Manager and Mining Dept. in ensuring statutory compliance to Mines Regulations in New South Wales.
    • Ensure adherence to all site policies and procedures, legislative requirements and statutory obligations
    • Instil a culture of safety, teamwork, ownership and accountability

     

    It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

    • Bachelor of Engineering – Mining or equivalent
    • Mine Managers Certificate of Competency or progress towards
    • Experience in mine planning and preparation of reserves in underground mining
    • Demonstrated experience with decline and long hole mining methods using mechanised equipment. Exposure to shaft operations an advantage.
    • Proficiency in Deswik mine planning software suite. Exposure to Vulcan, Mine24D, Ventsim and Enhanced Production Scheduler (or similar)
    • Excellent verbal, written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills, leadership skills and a business focus

    Mine Mechanical Supervisor

    Peak Gold Mines are currently looking for an experienced Mine Mechanical Supervisor to join the team.

    The key objective of this position is to provide effective leadership to the Mine Mechanical Team and instil a safe and productive work environment.

    You will also be required to lead the crew in a professional approach, foster growth and development in team members and support the team to deliver effective maintenance services across the business.

     

    Additional responsibilities of the position include:

    • Provide leadership and direction to the Mine Mechanical Team to ensure operational targets are achieved in a safe and efficient manner
    • Ensure adherence to all site policies and procedures, legislative requirements and statutory obligations
    • Complete hazard reviews, incident investigations and be involved in risk assessments for daily activities and project work
    • Instill a culture of safety, teamwork, ownership and accountability
    • Mentor, coach and effectively manage team performance
    • Create, implement and support a continuous improvement environment and culture
    • Deliver and sustain improvements in the areas of safety, production, availability and reliability of fixed plant assets
    • Develop and maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the workshop and all work areas
    • Ensure workshop procedures are adhered to and understood
    • Conduct daily shift information meetings and complete daily plods, ensuring all team members understand any risks or safety hazards associated with assigned tasks

     

    It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

    • Previous supervisory or leadership experience within the Mining Industry
    • Demonstrated experience in fixed plant assets, including winding equipment and associated components, pumps, crushers, conveyors, surface vent fans and shafts
    • Mechanical Fitter Trade qualifications
    • High-level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with proven ability to foster strong working relationships
    • Manual drivers license

    Mill Electrician 

    Peak Gold Mines are currently looking for an experienced Mill Electrician to join the team.

    As a Peak Gold Mines Mill Electrician your core objective is to repair, install, maintain, inspect and test the electrical plant, equipment and distribution network at Peak Gold Mines ensuring they are safe, compliant and effective in supporting the business needs.

    This is a residential role, with a lifestyle friendly 7/7 roster.

     

    Key responsibilities of the position include:

    • Carry out all tasks with emphasis on ensuring plant/equipment is safe, compliant and effective in supporting the business needs
    • Inspections, installation, modification, configuration, programming, fault finding, corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance of the following;
      • All high, low and extra low voltage power distribution, equipment, drives & motors
      • All aspects of PLC's, process control and automation, primarily Allen Bradley
      • HDMI & SCADA systems, primarily Citect & Allen Bradley
      • Instrumentation, sensors and actuators
      • IT network cabling, racks, switches, etc.
      • Voice and data communication systems
    • Populate work orders and daily electronic plods with accurate information and report on plant/equipment status as found, works done and status as left
    • Proactively use the companies risk management systems including Take 5s and JSA's
    • Provide on-call breakdown coverage as required
    • Provide guidance and training for end users of new installations

     

    It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

    • Electrical Trade Qualification
    • Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
    • Ability to understand drawings and safety fault find power and control systems
    • Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance and operational personnel
    • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
    • Current "C" Class licence
    • Experience with the following would be advantageous;
    • Mill processing or other industrial automated process control systems
    • Allen Bradley PLCs or others
    • Citect or other SCADA systems
    • PRONTO or other CMMS systems such as SAP
    • AutoCAD
    • High Risk work Licence; Dogging or Rigging, Forklift, Crane EWP

    Production Engineer

    Peak Gold Mines are currently looking for an experienced Production Engineer to join the team.

    The key objective of this position is to optimise the extraction of the known Peak Resource through efficient, safe and cost effective mining operations.

     

    Key responsibilities of the position include:

    • Responsible for all drill and blast designs, including;
      • Stoping and Vertical Development
      • Service holes – electrical & services reticulation, probe, pumping and drainage
    • Monitor the execution and effectiveness of designs and progress against the 12 Week and Weekly Schedules, including;
      • Underground inspection of active and future working areas, including mine services
      • Reporting variances -Stope reconciliation, Daily Production data validated
    • Review production interactions in the 12 Week Schedule
    • Maintain databases and working electronic files

     

    It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

    • Bachelor of Engineering – Mining or Equivalent
    • Current NSW Drivers Licence
    • 2 years + experience in hard rock underground mining.
    • Proficient in Deswick and Ventsim Visual
    • Good interpersonal skills, leadership skills and a business focus.
