ELECTRICAL PLANNER

  • Aurelia Metals are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Planner to join the Peak Gold Mines team, located at Cobar NSW.

    The successful applicant will be required to produce compliant, effective and productive plans for the Electrical Team. You will develop and maintain safe working practices through the use of company health and safety systems and work procedures as appropriate.

    This position will suit a motivated, self-starter who is constantly seeking excellence within their sphere of influence.

    Key responsibilities of the position include:

    • Creation, modification and updating of PM tasks for all plant items as required
    • Procurement into inventory (ANSE) of critical and operational spares for all relevant equipment
    • Management of off-site repairs and modifications for relevant equipment.
    • Sourcing and procurement of equipment, parts and labour for all planned tasks
    • Complete hazard reviews and be involved in risk assessments for new plant/processes, variations to existing plant/process, projects and major works
    • Completion of a weekly maintenance plan and presentation of the weekly maintenance plan to the weekly Planning meeting
    • Project management of planned activities in line with personal knowledge and skills, including completion of AFE’s and post project reviews.
    • Assist with sourcing and procurement of equipment, parts and labour for the Electrical Team

    To be successful in this position the following attributes are required:

    • NSW Electrical Supervisor Certificate or Qualified Electrical Contractor Licence will be highly regarded
    • Minimum of 2 years planning experience within the Mining Industry
    • Substantial knowledge and experience utilising computer programs including Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (PRONTO) and Microsoft Office Suite
    • High-level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with proven ability to foster strong customer and vendor working relationships
    • Ability to deliver to deadlines and ensure maintenance and preventative maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company guidelines, processes and within budget.
    • Manual drivers license

ELECTRICIAN

    As a Peak Gold Mines Electrician your core objective is to repair, install, maintain, inspect and test the electrical plant, equipment and distribution network at Peak Gold Mines (Mill, Surface and Underground), to ensure they are safe, compliant and effective in supporting the business needs. This is a residential role, with a lifestyle friendly 7/7 roster.

    Key responsibilities of the position include:

    • Carry out all tasks with emphasis on ensuring plant/equipment is safe, compliant and effective in supporting the business needs
    • Inspections, installation, modification, configuration, programming, fault finding, corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance of the following;
      • All high, low and extra low voltage power distribution, equipment, drives & motors
      • All aspects of PLC's, process control and automation, primarily Allen Bradley
      • HDMI & SCADA systems, primarily Citect & Allen Bradley
      • Instrumentation, sensors and actuators
      • IT network cabling, racks, switches, etc.
      • Voice and data communication systems
    • Populate work orders and daily electronic plods with accurate information and report on plant/equipment status as found, works done and status as left
    • Proactively use the companies risk management systems including Take 5s and JSA's
    • Provide on-call breakdown coverage as required
    • Provide guidance and training for end users of new installations

    To be successful in this position the following attributes are required:

    • Electrical Trade Qualification
    • Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
    • Ability to understand drawings and safety fault find power and control systems
    • Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance and operational personnel
    • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
    • Current "C" Class licence
    • Experience with the following would be advantageous;
      • Mill processing or other industrial automated process control systems
      • Underground hard rock mining experience
      • Winders and hoisting systems
      • Allen Bradley PLCs or others
      • Citect or other SCADA systems
      • PRONTO or other CMMS systems such as SAP

    Aurelia Metals operates the underground Hera gold-lead-zinc mine 100kms SE of Cobar NSW. Aurelia Metals are currently looking for an experienced and highly capable Plant Metallurgist to join our team, on a 8/6 DIDO roster. The Plant Metallurgist will report to the Senior Metallurgist. This position is responsible for the technical performance of the Hera Processing Facility which maximises gold doré production, bulk lead-zinc concentrate production and other areas of responsibility to ensure site and department targets are met in a safe, efficient manner in accordance with Aurelia’s policies and procedures.

    To be successful in this position the following attributes are required:

       
    • A Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Metallurgy or equivalent Chemical Engineering degree
    • 5-10 years’ experience at plant metallurgist level in a mineral processing environment, preference gravity gold and base metal processing
    • Enthusiastic, self-starter and hands-on/field orientated
    • Developed interpersonal skills, self-motivated, with a strong customer focus
    • Analytical mind with genuine interest in achieving best practice outcomes
    • Demonstrate initiative, urgency, resourcefulness and integrity

Graduate Geologist (Fixed Term)

    These positions are for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, working an 8/6 continuous shift roster.

    The successful applicants will be responsible for providing professional geological services to support the existing Geology systems at Peak Gold Mines through quality data collection, interpretation and assessment.

    This is achieved through geological mapping, logging of drill holes, and management of geological data.

    This position will suit a highly motivated, self-starter and team player.

    • Monitoring of Underground Material Movements
    • Implementation of Grade Control Systems and Reporting
    • Grade Control Sampling
    • Ore and Waste Designation

Laboratory Technician

    • Sample operation, fire assay and wet chemistry
    • Operation of an AAS spectrometer
    • Operation of the ICP
    • Shipment assays of concentrate and/or bullion
    • Data entry into the laboratory's information management system and other related databases
    • Involvement in site safety systems and display a positive attitude to safety
    • Diligence in good work preparation and housekeeping
    • Be involved in the review and update of Laboratory Operational Procedures and Job safety Analysis
    • Participate in works within the processing plant with maintenance and operations.
    • Ability to prioritise and work with competing deadlines
    • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team

    It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

    • Maintain the effective operation of all the plant circuits
    • Control room operation
    • Carryout circuit prestart checks
    • Carryout day to day activities assigned by the shift supervisor
    • Maintain plant housekeeping standards
    • Perform minor maintenance tasks and report maintenance requirements for mobile and fixed plant equipment
    • Actively participate in all safety systems; incidents reporting, hazards, investigations, JHA and different types of risk assessments
    • Assist with tails dam operation and maintenance
    • Maintain ROM pad, ore stockpiles
    • Assist with concentrate handling operation
    • Maintain and update log sheet records and other reporting requirements

     

    It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

    • Previous experience on operating mills, thickeners, filters, pumps, flotation circuit and tails deposition systems
    • Ability to maintain high housekeeping standards
    • Ability problem solve
    • Effective communication
    • Ability to work unsupervised
    • Forklift Ticket (Desirable but not essential)

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

    The key objectives of this position are to optimise extraction of Peak Mines resources through efficient, safe and cost effective mining operations.This is a residential role in Cobar, NSW, with Subsidised housing and a 5/2 - 4/3 or 8/6 roster.

    Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensure designs are safe and are effective in their lifecycle application.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    • Promote and enforce safe work practices.
    • Develop, Implement, Review and Update Geotechnical standards and procedures in respect of ground monitoring, ground control and mine infrastructure.
    • Develop and implement inspections and monitoring regimes for quality control of installed ground support. This includes working with the contractors and other external geotechnical engineering firms to deliver QA/QC information and test results in a timely manner.
    • Working closely with the mine operations and technical services teams to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

     

    To be considered for the role, you will hold a Bachelor Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or similar discipline coupled with 10+years of underground mining experience. You will require effective communication skills with excellent interpersonal, cooperative and facilitation skills. In addition, you will be proficient in the utilisation of specialist mining software – Vulcan, Deswik CAD, Seismology, UnWedge, Map3D, Dips, Corel Draw. Current NSW ‘C’ class driver’s licence (or equivalent) is required.

Underground Mine Production Engineer - Hera Mine

  • Hera Resources is an underground Gold-Lead-Zinc-Silver mining operation within the “Aurelia Metals Ltd group” located 100Kms South East of Cobar, in Central Western NSW.

    We are currently seeking a 3-5 year experienced UG Mine Production Engineer to join our technical team. This is a drive-in drive out role, with fantastic camp accommodation and meals provided, on an 8/6 roster.

    Hera is looking for an enthusiastic self-starter, who can hit the ground running, with a demonstrated ability to work alone, who takes pride in their work and contribution, as part of a small technical team.

    The key objectives of this position are to optimise extraction of the known Hera resource through efficient, safe and cost-effective mining operations.

     

    Key areas of responsibility for this position (include but are not limited to the following):

    • Undertake UG drill and blast designs,
    • Monitor the quality and progress of excavations against the Weekly and Quarterly Schedules,
    • Undertake/assist with development of the Weekly Schedule and Quarterly mine plan,
    • Maintain databases and working electronic files tracking performance
    • Assist in the day to day management of the UG mining contractor
    • Monitor infrastructure and other services planned (eg. Vent, ground support, etc)

    The successful candidate will possess:

    • Bachelor of Engineering - Mining or Equivalent
    • Knowledge of short to medium term mine planning requirements
    • Understanding of longhole stoping drill and blast techniques
    • Interest and ability to gain NSW Mining ticket
    • 3-5 years experience – including completion of statutory underground experience
    • Proficient in the utilisation of specialist mining software – Surpac and/or Deswick
    • Be an effective participant and contributor to the site technical team
    • Good interpersonal skills, leadership skills and a business focus
    • Ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation
